 SPRING 2021

DETROIT MUSIC AWARDS:

The DMA's were held virtually April 11 and BOB and his 16 year old son Coltrane came away with an award for Outstanding Family/Children's Music.

The BOB & APRIL song "Never Thought It'd End Like This (Coronavirus Song)", which was written, recorded & released in April 2020 during lockdown was nominated for Outstanding Recording in the Americana category.

BOB & APRIL were nominated for Outstanding Group in the Americana category.

BOB was nominated for Outstanding Instrumentalist along with ACOUSTIC MADNESS bassist Jorian Olk-Szost and also Outstanding Songwriter both in the Americana category.

CARRY ON (CSNY tribute band) was nominated for Outstanding Tribute Band. CARRY ON played to a capacity crowd at Younger's Irish Tavern, a showcase venue in Romeo, Michigan on April 24. CARRY ON features Jorian on electric bass and BOB on various guitars and pedal steel.

ACOUSTIC MADNESS is finishing up the last few songs from upcoming release tentatively titled Tiffany. The photo video for the song "I'm Tired/Inspired" was released on YouTube on New Years Eve 2020.

ACOUSTIC MADNESS resumed it's Tuesday night residency at the Uptown Grille on March 23 after a 4 month COVID restriction related layoff.

BOB has been working on & off for over a year with Josh Ford at Sound Shop studios on the 30-plus song project Bob's 50th Birthday Concert. Recorded at Callahan's Music Hall in 2011 it features performances by Black Market, Luck & Trouble, The Look, The Stumbling Mice, The Belle Islanders, Acoustic Madness and more. It's looking to be a 2 CD plus 1 DVD package at this point and there'll probably an abbreviated vinyl version as well.

BOB has written a memoire this year tentatively titled Confessions of an Unknown Guitar Player. It follows his life as a musician from early childhood on and chronicles his experiences in Boston while attending Berklee College of Music through playing with the "legendary" Black Market band and years of plowing through the Metro Detroit music scene while pursuing a recording and songwriting career.
